Andre Plus Eye Drops 10 Ml contains following Salts:-
Naphazoline - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Nasal congestion.
Probable Side Effects: :Cardiac abnormalities, hypertension, reduced body temperature, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nervousness, hyperglycaemia.
Drug Interaction: Interacts with other drugs like atenolol, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, propranolol (HCl), tranylcypromine (Sulphate). These interactions are sometimes beneficial and sometimes may pose threats to life. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: Naphazoline is a direct acting sympathomimetic drug, which acts on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the arterioles of the nasal mucosa. This activates the adrenal system to yield systemic vasoconstrction. In producing vasoconstriction, the result is a decrease in blood flow in the nasal passages and consequently decreased nasal congestion. The vasoconstriction means that there is less pressure in the capillaries and less water can filter out, thus less discharge is made.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Impact During Lactation: There is positive evidence of risk to a breastfed infant or to breastmilk production, but the benefits of use in breastfeeding mothers may be acceptable despite the risk to the infant (e.g. if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective).
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose - Drug Information
Chlorpheniramine - Drug Information
Typical usage: :For the treatment of rhinitis, urticaria, allergy, common cold, asthma and hay fever.
Probable Side Effects: :Blurred vision, dry eyes, mydriasis, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, psychomotor impairment, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disturbances.
Drug Interaction: Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Anticholinergic effects of chlorphenamine (e.g. dry mouth, blurred vision) may be enhanced by drugs with anticholinergic effects such as antipsychotics, MAOI or tricyclic antidepressants. Chlorphenamine inhibits phenytoin metabolism and can lead to phenytoin toxicity.
Mechanism of Action: Chlorphenamine is an H1-receptor antagonist which competetively blocks H1-receptor sites on tissues.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Impact During Lactation: There are no controlled studies in breastfeeding women, however the risk of untoward effects to a breastfed infant is possible; or, controlled studies show only minimal non-threatening adverse effects. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant.
Zinc Sulfate - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Chemosis, conjuctivitis.
Probable Side Effects: :NA
Drug Interaction: Zinc sulphate is known to interact with other drugs like heparin (Na) and heparin (Cl), ichthammol, iron salts, norfloxacin, penicillamine, sodium calciumedetate, tetracycline (HCl).
