D Montus 5Mg/10Mg 10Tablet contains following Salts:-
Desloratadine - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Allergy, hay fever, urticaria and rhinitis.
Probable Side Effects: :Arrhythmias, anaphylaxis, angioedema, extrapyrimidal symptoms, headache, drowsiness, fatigue, palpitation, dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary retension.
Drug Interaction: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mechanism of Action: Desloratadine competes with free histamine for binding at H1-receptors in the GI tract, uterus, large blood vessels, and bronchial smooth muscle. This blocks the action of endogenous histamine, which subsequently leads to temporary relief of the negative symptoms (eg. nasal congestion, watery eyes) brought on by histamine.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Impact During Lactation: Studies in breastfeeding mothers have demonstrated that there is significant and documented risk to the infant based on human experience, or it is a medication that has a high risk of causing significant damage to an infant. The risk of using the drug in breastfeeding women clearly outweighs any possible benefit from breastfeeding. The drug is contraindicated in women who are breastfeeding an infant.
Montelukast - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Chronic asthma. Seasonal allergic rhinitis. Perennial allergic rhinitis. Prophylaxis of exercise-induced asthma.
Probable Side Effects: :Angioedema, headache, restlessness, abdominal pain, agitation, oedema, allergy anaphylaxis.
Drug Interaction: Montelukast is known to interact with other drugs like phenobarbital Sodium, prednisolone and prednisone, rifampicin. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: Montelukast selectively antagonizes leukotriene D4 (LTD4) at the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor, CysLT1, in the human airway. Montelukast inhibits the actions of LTD4 at the CysLT1 receptor, preventing airway edema, smooth muscle contraction, and enhanced secretion of thick, viscous mucus.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Impact During Lactation: There are no controlled studies in breastfeeding women, however the risk of untoward effects to a breastfed infant is possible; or, controlled studies show only minimal non-threatening adverse effects. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant.
