Isovon 75Mg 10Tablet contains following Salts:-
Niacinamide - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Hartnup disease, inflammatory skin disease, vitamin deficiency.
Probable Side Effects: :Hepatotoxicity, cholestasis, portal fibrosis, headache, fatigue, nausea, heart burn, sore throat, dry hair, tautness of the face, inability of eye focusing.
Drug Interaction: Niacinamide is known to interact with other drugs like carbamazepine, primidone. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: Nutritional supplement: Niacinamide, is a component of two coenzymes, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), which are necessary for tissue respiration, glycogenolysis and lipid, amino acid, protein, and purine metabolism. Antihyperlipidemic: Niacinamide lowers serum cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations by inhibiting the synthesis of very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), which are precursors to the formation of low-density lipoproteins, the principal carrier of blood cholesterol.
Pregnancy Impact: Adequate and well-controlled studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy (and there is no evidence of risk in later trimesters).
Impact During Lactation: There are no controlled studies in breastfeeding women, however the risk of untoward effects to a breastfed infant is possible; or, controlled studies show only minimal non-threatening adverse effects. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant.
Soy Isoflavones - Drug Information
Typical usage: :nutritional supplement
Probable Side Effects: :Nausea, stomach upset, skin rash, acute toxicity.
Drug Interaction: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mechanism of Action: A dietary supplement, also known as food supplement or nutritional supplement, is a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids, that may be missing or may not be consumed in sufficient quantities in a person's diet. Some countries define dietary supplements as foods, while in others they are defined as drugs or natural health products.
Pregnancy Impact: There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Impact During Lactation: There is positive evidence of risk to a breastfed infant or to breastmilk production, but the benefits of use in breastfeeding mothers may be acceptable despite the risk to the infant (e.g. if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective).
Vitamin A - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Adjunctive therapy without valproate, bronchitis, pneumonia, Rsv infection, skin diseases, to reduce degradation of pancreatic enzyme supplements, vitamin deficiency.
Probable Side Effects: :Hair loss, anorexia, peeling & redness of skin, headache, irritability, nausea, vomiting, hypersensitivity, dry skin, weight loss, transient hydrocephalus, hypercalcemia, skin cracking.
Drug Interaction: Vitamin A is known to interact with other drugs like acitretin, alcohol, bleomycin, etretinate, isotretinoin, metacycline (HCl), minocycline (HCl), neomycin, paraffin, tocopherol (Vitamin E), tretinoin, warfarin (Na). Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: 1. Vision: Vitamin A (all-trans retinol) is converted in the retina to the 11-cis-isomer of retinaldehyde or 11-cis-retinal. 11-cis-retinal functions in the retina in the transduction of light into the neural signals necessary for vision. 11-cis-retinal, while attached to opsin in rhodopsin is isomerized to all-trans-retinal by light. This is the event that triggers the nerve impulse to the brain which allows for the perception of light. All-trans-retinal is then released from opsin and reduced to all-trans-retinol. All-trans-retinol is isomerized to 11-cis-retinol in the dark, and then oxidized to 11-cis-retinal. 11-cis-retinal recombines with opsin to re-form rhodopsin. 2. Epithelial differentiation: The role of Vitamin A in epithelial differentiation, as well as in other physiological processes, involves the binding of Vitamin A to two families of nuclear retinoid receptors (retinoic acid receptors, RARs; and retinoid-X receptors, RXRs). These receptors function as ligand-activated transcription factors that modulate gene transcription. When there is not enough Vitamin A to bind these receptors, natural cell differentiation and growth are interrupted.
