Beclometasone - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Beclomethasone (Dipropionate) is primarily indicated in conditions like allergic rhinitis, asthma, dermatitis, eczema, granuloma annulare, lichen planus, lichen simplex, lupus erythematosus, NSAID-associated gastric and duodenal ulcers (prophylaxis), prophylaxis of asthma, pruritus ANI, psoriasis, vasomotor rhinitis and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in liver transplant.
Probable Side Effects: :Dermal thinning, telangiectasia, striae, glaucoma, cataract, osteoporosis, increased IOP (intraocular pressure).
Drug Interaction: interact with other drugs like Diazoxide, Ketoconazole, Phenytoin (Na), Rifampicin, Technetium Tc-99m Gluceptate, Technetium Tc-99m Oxidronate.These interactions are sometimes beneficial and sometimes may pose threats to life. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: Beclometasone controls the rate of protein synthesis, depresses the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, fibroblasts, reverses capillary permeability and lysosomal stabilisation at the cellular level to prevent or control inflammation.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Impact During Lactation: There are no controlled studies in breastfeeding women, however the risk of untoward effects to a breastfed infant is possible; or, controlled studies show only minimal non-threatening adverse effects. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant.
Rutoside Trihydrate - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Hemorrhoids, surgical anaesthesia, zollinger-ellison syndrome.
Probable Side Effects: :Sleepiness, dizziness, headache, vomiting, constipation, skin rashes, dry mouth, gastritis, eosinophilia.
Drug Interaction: Rutoside trihydrate is known to interact with other drugs like amiloride (HCl), ascorbic Acid, ciprofloxacin, docetaxel, gemifloxacin, hydrochlorothiazide, lomefloxacin (HCl), spironolactone, triamterene. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism of Action: Not known.
Pregnancy Impact: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Impact During Lactation: Drug which has been studied in a limited number of breastfeeding women without an increase in adverse effects in the infant; And/or, the evidence of a demonstrated risk which is likely to follow use of this medication in a breastfeeding woman is remote.
Trypsin - Drug Information
Typical usage: :Osteoarthritis, wound cleansing and healing, improve digestion.
Probable Side Effects: :Trypsin seems to be safe when used by healthcare professionals for wound cleaning and healing. It can cause side effects such as pain and burning.
Drug Interaction: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Mechanism of Action: Tryptic digestion is a necessary step in protein absorption as proteins are generally too large to be absorbed through the lining of the small intestine. Trypsin cleaves peptide chains mainly at the carboxyl side of the amino acids lysine or arginine. Trypsin contains an oxyanion hole formed by the backbone amide hydrogen atoms of Gly-193 and Ser-195, which serves to stabilize the developing negative charge on the carbonyl oxygen atom of the cleaved amides.
